Not everyone arrives in Siargao by plane. If you're taking a ferry from Surigao City, Bucas Grande, or another nearby island, you'll arrive at Dapa Port — and you'll need transport to reach General Luna, Siargao's main tourist hub. Here's your complete guide.
Where is Dapa Port?
Dapa Port is located in the town of Dapa in northern Siargao Island, approximately:
- 10 km from Sayak Airport (about 10–15 minutes by van)
- 25 km from General Luna (about 35–45 minutes by van)
- 30 km from Cloud 9 (about 40–50 minutes by van)
Ferry Routes to Dapa Port
The main ferry service to Siargao operates from Surigao City to Dapa Port. Key details:
- Operators: FastCat, Oceanjet, and other local ferry companies
- Journey time: 1.5–2.5 hours depending on vessel and weather
- Frequency: Multiple sailings daily, typically early morning and midday
- Fare from Surigao: Approximately ₱200–₱500 depending on class
⚠️ Weather warning: Ferry services can be cancelled or delayed due to bad weather — especially during typhoon season (June–October). Always check conditions before travel and allow flexible scheduling if taking the ferry route.
Option 1 — Van Transfer from Dapa Port to General Luna
The most comfortable and fastest option. A Shuttle Siargao van picks you up directly at the port exit and drives you to your hotel in General Luna without stops.

Option 2 — Tricycle (Tuk-Tuk) from Dapa Port
Tricycles are available at Dapa Port. They're the local transport option and can take you into Dapa town or to nearby areas cheaply.
However, for the full journey to General Luna:
- Tricycles are very slow on this route — expect 60–80 minutes
- Luggage space is extremely limited
- Prices are negotiated and tourists often pay more than locals
- Multiple transfers may be needed (tricycle to Dapa → van to GL)
Tricycles are fine for short distances within Dapa, but for the full journey to General Luna with luggage, a van is far more practical.
Option 3 — Public Van (If Available)
Occasional public vans operate from Dapa to General Luna. They're the cheapest option but have no fixed schedule, no guaranteed space for luggage, and can be very crowded. Not recommended for tourists with significant luggage.
Connecting from Dapa Port to Siargao Airport
If you arrive by ferry and need to catch a domestic flight, Dapa Port is conveniently close to Sayak Airport (10–15 minutes). We recommend:
- Allow at least 2 hours between ferry arrival and flight departure
- Book a transfer from Dapa Port directly to the airport in advance
- Ferries can arrive late — don't plan tight connections
